This study investigated the weight of alloy loss arising from alternative techniques employed in the process of fabricating metal substructures for single-unit PFM crowns. Results showed that certain techniques resulted in less loss of alloy than others, but the differences were not statistically significant except when sandblasting was used for the cleaning of castings.
