Abstract: Discontinuous technological innovations are important for continual market domination and new/emerging market creation. Discontinuous innovations, either radical or disruptive, tend to enter the market through high performance, low cost or unique product attributes. However, the Automated External Defibrillators in Healthcare Industry has shown that this is not necessarily so and new mode of entry via the mainstream is feasible. ©2008 IEEE.
