Abstract: Sample preparation techniques are received increasing attention in the past few decades since they are critical in an analytical procedure. Along with the trend in miniaturization in analytical chemistry, microextraction methods have undergone rapid development. This thesis reports the development and application of ionic liquids (ILs) for liquid phase microextraction (LPME) and zeolite imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) for sorbent phase-based microextraction (SPBME) combined with chromatography for applications in environmental analysis. Firstly, we introduced a new kind of IL, 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium tri(pentafluoroethyl)trifluorophosphate into LPME to extract various types of analytes. Then, ZIFs were used as sorbent of micro-solid-phase extraction (?-SPE) for trace analysis of environmental pollutants in water samples. Finally, a combined sonication-assisted emulsification microextraction with vortex-assisted ?-SPE (SAE-VA-?-SPE) was successfully developed and optimized for fast and high efficient extraction of some pollutants in water samples. Low LODs and good RSDs were obtained for the five developed microextraction methods.
