dc.description.abstract | The utilization of the electron?s spin with its charge has emerged into a branch of electronic called spintronic. The dynamics of the ferromagnetic materials can be utilized in memories and logic devices at the gigahertz range. Two aspects of magnetization dynamics have been investigated in this study such as magnetic domain walls (particle-like) and spin waves (wave-like). Furthermore, we have explored the effect of current-induced spin transfer torque on the magnetization dynamics in which spin angular momentum from conduction electron transfers to the local magnetic moment. The resonance frequency of the domain wall has been characterized experimentally and by micromagnetic simulations. In addition, the dynamics of a current driven magnetic domain wall motion have been investigated in the presence of a propagating spin wave. Lastly, the dynamics of a metastable magnetic domain wall in the presence of magnetic field and spin transfer torque have been studied. | |
