dc.description.abstract	The COSMOS survey is analysed for the gravitational lensing signature of cosmic strings. Analytical techniques formulated for the detection methodology shall be discussed, and studies pertaining the effi ciencies of the detection methodology will also be highlighted. Finally, limits on cosmic string parameters are statistically established based on the observational data, and would be useful in the determination of the type of cosmic strings that may potentially exist according to such characterizing parameters.
