Abstract
Based on the new version of The Usage of Punctuation, and the recent situation of its using, the article compares and works up with punctuation definition, form as well as specific usage. In the process of studying, the article not only links to the punctuation differences of new and traditional ones, but also points out new problems of punctuation and broaden the view of its research.
Past "Punctuation" version is not complete, such as the use of dashes and ellipses list, and some widely used usage (such as the stack with an exclamation mark or question mark, etc.) and not goes into the requirement. The latest version of the "Punctuation" tries its better to solve these problems.
On the new version of "Punctuation",article proposed some new perspectives and regulatory issues which were not mentioned in order.
Mix of punctuation has been the focus of the problem. Dash is for closely above semantic word or single sentence, a colon is used to prompt a complete re-sentence or discourse.
Punctuation in various styles in the distribution of the habit can be seen that the use of punctuation, which regulated the use of punctuation has certain instructive.
Punctuation symbols belong to a broad network, but also the emerging system of signs. Although it is not now being classified as among the narrow punctuation, but its development, we have a great impact on use of punctuation. The classification of network symbols and norms, is the punctuation marks of another perspective.
