Abstract: The work is presented in four parts, dealing with <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>(i) the reactions of trifluoroacetate (CF3COO) and triflate (SO3CF3) salts of silver(I) with 1,1a??-bis(diphenylphospino)ferrocene (dppf), leading to coordination polymeric and supramolecular network structures, ten of which have been characterized. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>(ii) the syntheses, structures and solution dynamic behaviour of some dppf complexes of ruthenium(II) containing carboxylate, dithiocarbamate and xanthate co-ligands. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>(iii) the reactivity of CpRudppfCl with various phosphorus and sulfur donor ligands. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>(iv) the reactivity of [(C6Me6)Ru(dppf)Cl]PF6 with phosphorus and sulfur donor ligands. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br> <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>All new compounds were characterized by microanalytical, NMR, IR, Mass spectral analyses and most of them also by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The solution dynamic behaviour of most of the silver complexes by variable temperature NMR spectral studies is also reported. <br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><br>
