Abstract: Quality of residential environment, it is argued has important implications for overall quality of life. This research dissertation explores the factors that are important in quality of residential environment and identifies relationship between quality of residential environments and quality of life in Singapore. The study revolves around the concept of neighborhoods in the Housing and Development Board (HDB) housing estates. The concept of residential quality is operationalized by employing the measure of residential satisfaction. The findings show that, quality of residential environment is an important aspect of peoplesa?? lives in Singapore. Results also show that people tend to accord different levels of importance to different aspects of residential environment, and those aspects of residential environment which are perceived important by the residents do matter more for quality of residential environment,. Furthermore different personal characteristics also impact upon residential and global life satisfaction.
