Abstract: It may be a good practice to couple displacement ventilation with personalized ventilation. As displacement ventilation could use energy efficiently, while personalized ventilation could bring higher local air quality, thermal comfort and individual control of local environment. In this study, an experimental study was carried out to explore how the use of different PV ATDs would affect pollutant transportation characteristics and thermal comfort of the manikin in a room served by DV. CFD modeling was used to test other combinations of PV supply air temperatures and air flow rates and investigate their impact on local air quality and thermal environment. It was found the performance of the two PV ATDs is different in terms of IAQ and cooling effect. It was also found that the PV air temperature and airflow rate may have impact on the performance of the PV-DV coupled system.
