Abstract: The objective of this thesis is to explore the use of the Internet to facilitate remote, real-time and user-friendly operations in ndustrial applications, academic research and everyday life. Particularly, the development of a web-based remote vibration monitoring and fault diagnosis system is presented. A remote monitoring system is developed that can be operated from anywhere with an access to the Internet. It can be readily modified to fit into distinct situation thus providing a frame-work for setting up remote operation network using only off-the-shelves components.
