This thesis is concerned with a corpus-based variation study on the English spoken in Singapore. It attempts to provide a systematic and comprehensive study of the grammatical features of Singapore Colloquial English (SCE). The study defines SCE as the spoken form of Singapore Standard English (SSE) -- a new variety of English. Based on the International Corpus of English Singapore Corpus (ICE-SIN), the grammatical features of SCE are counted, analyzed and interpreted.
