Abstract: Template-assisted synthesis combining with precursor decomposition method was employed to prepare semiconductor (Ag2S, PbS) nanoparticles in situ in the presence of soft templates such as polyaniline, organo-clay and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. Various characterization methods were employed to study the properties of the prepared nanocomposites. The applications of these hybrid materials such as ion-selective detection, near-IR emission and field emission have also been investigated in details. On the other hand, the assembly behaviors of semiconductor nanoparticles (Ag2S and CuxS, x = 1.75) on polystyrene patterned substrates have been studied.
