Abstract: This study focused on developing barium hexaferrite composites for microwave absorbing materials with low reflectivity and wide absorbing band. Due to the good magnetic property of W-type and c-plane anisotropy of Y-type hexaferrites, these two materials were chosen for investigation in this work. All ferrites were fabricated by solid state reaction. Ions substitution and oxides doping were both employed to enhance the absorbing performance by the modification of static and dynamic magnetic properties. This study provides some useful information and physical understanding on hexaferrites for microwave absorption.
