Abstract: In this thesis, an extensive analytical and numerical investigation of Bose-Einstein condensation is conducted. The ground states and dynamics of rotating single-component BEC is studied in details. As an extension, the rotating two-component BEC is also investigated. Finally, the vortex dynamics and interactions in Ginzburg-Landau-Schroedinger equation are studied both asymptotically and numerically.
