SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN VIETNAM: A COMMUNITY-BASED DIRECTION. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The paper aims to understand the early development of social entrepreneurship in Vietnam with the purpose to either locate the phenomenon upon existing theory or suggest new theory with better fit. In addition, the paper also aims to explore the implications of the social context in Vietnam upon the practice of social entrepreneurship. With the adoption of grounded theory as a research guideline, the paper interviewed social entrepreneurship organizations in Vietnam. Observations based on the interviews suggest a direction towards community-based development of the field in Vietnam. The paper also highlights the potential interaction between key players in the field, including social entrepreneurs, community, government and social incubators, in shaping its direction in the future. Lastly, the paper also suggests further studies in verifying the community-based approach with larger data coverage. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/147793 |
