Abstract: This thesis examines the history of the a??buy-Chinese productsa?? movement in the Singapore Chinese community. The movement tried to encourage and increase the consumption of articles and commodities produced by Chinese firms, echoing its development in China. It was a long and large nationalist movement attended by various classes and groups in Singapore Chinese community from 1905 to 1937.
