Abstract: AIM: TO DEVELOP A 4-WEEK SMARTPHONE-BASED CORONARY HEART DISEASE (CHD) PREVENTION INTERVENTION, AND EXAMINE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE INTERVENTION IN IMPROVING AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE, AND HEALTHY BEHAVOURS RELATED TO CHD AMONG WORKING POPULATION IN SINGAPORE. METHODS: A SMARTPHONE APPLICATION (APP), NAMED ?CARE4HEART? WAS DEVELOPED AS MAIN COMPONENT OF THE INTERVENTION. A PILOT RCT WAS ADOPTED TO TEST ITS EFFECTIVENESS. EIGHTY WORKING PEOPLE WERE CONVENIENTLY RECRUITED AND RANDOMISED TO EITHER THE INTERVENTION GROUP OR THE CONTROL GROUP. THE INTERVENTION GROUP RECEIVED A 4-WEEK SMARTPHONE-BASED INTERVENTION WHEREAS THOSE IN THE CONTROL GROUP WERE OFFERED WITH WEBSITES ONLY. PARTICIPANTS? KNOWLEDGE, STRESS AND BEHAVIOURAL RISK FACTORS WERE USING HEART DISEASE FACT QUESTIONNAIRE-2, BEHAVIOURAL RISK FACTOR SURVEILLANCE SYSTEM AND PERCEIVED STRESS SCALE. DATA WAS ANALYSED USING SPSS 22.0. RESULTS: THE SMARTPHONE-BASED INTERVENTION HAD SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED WORKING POPULATION?S KNO
