Abstract: To understand the parking choice behavior on NUS campus better, this study established a probabilistic model to examine the effects on parking location choice of personal socioeconomic characteristics and parking facility characteristics. Due to the great similarity among free car parks and among charged car parks, binary logit (BL) model is selected as the analytical tool. Five variables out of 15 are proven to be significant in this model finally. It is found that the probability of choosing charged park will decrease by 11% with an increase of 1 S$ in parking fee, holding all other variables at their means. In addition, the combined impacts of parking pricing and shuttle bus service on the probabilities of choosing different kinds of campus parking are also explored and some suggestions are proposed based on these results.
