Title: | Distributed code generation using object level analysis | Authors: | CHU YINGYI | Keywords: | Distributed Computing, Platform, Object Oriented, Program Analysis, Code Generation, Java | Issue Date: | 15-Jun-2004 | Citation: | CHU YINGYI (2004-06-15). Distributed code generation using object level analysis. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This thesis proposed a new method of distributed code generation using object level analysis. This method is the key function of the Java Distributed code Generating and Computing platform (JDGC) introduced in this thesis. The object level analysis is a general method of analyzing object-oriented applications to extract the communication affinity metrics between runtime objects. Our method achieves this using a two level analyzer with an intermediate 3 dimensional communication metrics. Using the resultant object level affinity metrics, the distributed code generation automatically ports standard concurrent program for single machine to the form that runs on a distributed system. The generated distributed code incorporates the runtime object placement according to the affinities computed, and handles the intra-or inter-machine communication between objects. The method is completely automatic. The input code is standard single machine oriented program. The thesis also gives the details of the integrated JDGC platform and presents sample applications. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/14024 |
