Abstract: In this thesis, the design, the fabrication and testing of the smart power synchronous rectifier (SPSR) is presented. The SPSR is designed for low voltage, lower power high frequency rectification in power devices. The SPSR, a two terminal self-timed and self-powered device, is made up of n-LD MOS FETs and R-C network. The main objective is to realized a SR that is integrated, functional and practical. The SPSR is fabricated using LDMOS devices unlike the usual DMOS or VDMOS devices to achieve lower input capacitance. With a specific input capacitance of 11.8, the LDMOS is capable of a higer operating speed. The SPSR fabricated has achieved a low forward voltage of 0.18 V and switching speed at 1 MHz. Compared to the schottky diode, the SPSR performance is equal if not better in various aspects. With more accurate processing information and technology, the SPSR will be cacpble of achieving better results
