Abstract: Part-depth simulation of atmospheric boundary layer wind in open terrain has been carried out in the NUS-HDB Boundary-Layer Wind Tunnel. In order to assess the reliablity of simulation, Jan Smuts hangar is tested for roof pressures Results obtained for mean, root-mean-square and peak pressure coefficients found to agree well with the wind tunnel results reported in Jan Smuts experiments.Having validated the reliability of the tunnel for low-rise structutres, measurement of external pressures on the roof of an isolated SIA model hangar is conducted. It is observed that the mean pressure coefficients at the corners of the roof are higher than the value given in the design code.
