dc.description.abstract | The flow around a single circular cylinder and two circular cylinders in tandem placed in proximity to a horizontal plane boundary is studied using numerical simulations. The chapters are arranged in the order of increasing complexity, with four main sections outlined. This thesis represents a step towards an improved understanding of the hydrodynamics involved in the subsea pipelines placed in proximity to the seabed subjected to different flow conditions. | |
