Abstract: The study identified new post translational modifications to cytosolic fumarase and showed their effect on the enzymatic and DNA repair function of the enzyme. Furthermore the interaction with fumarate reductase and the linker histone H1 shown sheds light on a potential new mechanism by which cytosolic fumarase aids in double stranded DNA damage repair.
