dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study is to reconstruct how early Confucian thought struck a balance between both a concern with generality and also a concern with particularity in its conception of ethical reasoning. This reconstruction is done by bringing to bear certain questions regarding the nature of ethical reasoning discussed in the contemporary debate on moral particularism upon the ethical thinking evidenced in early Confucian literature such as the Analects, the Odes and the Documents. | |
