Title: | A unified approach for the performance analysis of unitary spare-time block codes | Authors: | HE MING | Keywords: | Space-time block coding, Gaussian quadratic form, pairwise error probability, performance analysis | Issue Date: | 7-Apr-2004 | Citation: | HE MING (2004-04-07). A unified approach for the performance analysis of unitary spare-time block codes. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | This thesis presents a unified approach to determine the probability of bit error (BER) of various unitary transmit diversity schemes under a variety of conditions. Using well known results for the quadratic form of a complex Gaussian random vector, we show how to compute the exact BER of unitary space-time modulation under the following scenarios: imperfect channel estimation, spatial correlation, temporal correlation, different modulation schemes, different antenna configurations and code rates. The approach can be used to analyze combinations of the above scenarios, and we compute, as an example, the exact performance of linear decoding of a 2 transmit, 2 receive antenna system using an orthogonal QPSK space-time block code, under imperfect channel estimation and spatial correlation. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/13772 |
