Abstract: In this thesis, we first focus on the applications of fluctuation electrodynamics (FE) to the investigation of radiative heat transfer between different 2-d materials. In the next part, we focus on the contribution of the scalar-field photon for the RHT using non-equilibrium Green’s functions (NEGF). In the last part of this thesis, we focus on the construction of quantum thermal rectifiers and thermal transistors.
