Abstract: Security in agent transport and data integrity during agent roaming, two of the more prominent security concerns that was not fully resolved in the area of mobile agent research, is the focus of this thesis. The issue of agent transport security is resolved by the introduction of a secure and flexible agent transport protocol. Under agent transport protocol, three different approaches are proposed based on the level of security so that the balance can be achieved between security and efficiency. On the issue of agent data integrity protection, based on the limitations of existing researches, a secure and efficient agent data integrity protection protocol is proposed. The proposal is designed to be secure, efficient, flexible, and robust against various vulnerabilities identified from current literature. The use of one-time encryption key concept, introduction of a variation of DH key exchange further improves the security strength of the protocol.
