Abstract: In this study, a systematic study on the characterization of ozoantion transformation products, factors affecting removal efficiency and transformation products of salicylic acid and sucralose were performed. Various transformation products of salicylic acid and sucralose were identified and characterized in details. The results showed that salicylic acid could be effectively removed in both acidic and alkaline condition, while sucralose could be removed in neutral and alkaline conditions. Ozone dosage, pH, and sample matrix not only affected the removal efficiency of salicylic acid but also affected the formation ozoantion products. The results demonstrated that primary hydroxylation products, carbonyl compounds and carboxylic acids could be generated during salicylic acid and sucralose ozoantion. The compositions of ozoantion products were varied with the experimental condition. The degradation pathways of salicylic acid and sucralose by ozonation were proposed.
