Abstract: Predicting the integrals of random fields is very interesting and important in geostatistics and in the design and analysis of computer experiments. Depending on the situation, there are, typically, three ways of studying this problem theoretically, namely, via increasing-domain, fixed-domain or mixed-type asymptotics. This thesis studies the asymptotic mean square error for predicting the regional variance in random fields and obtains a consistent predictor for the spatial cumulative distribution function from a centered systematic sample via fixed-domain asymptotics.
