Abstract: In this study the varying degree of mixing performance in different curvature profiles, such as a serpentine, saw tooth, U-shape, square curve and spiral channel have been studied by correlating mixing performance to the swirling strength of flow within these microchannels. Having identified spiral channel to be the best curvature profile in terms of mixing, the cross sectional geometry of the spiral channel was varied to study its impact. In addition, the fouling resistance of these channels were also studied under low flow conditions
