dc.description.abstract | Articulates & appropriates a different political vision from those currently embedded in the process of globalization to call for an alternative. The objective here is not simply to answer questions concerning the impact of globalization, but, through the study of impact, to address the crucial problem of what to do to deal with our needs. This perspective has more to do with people directly exercising power rather than with the more conventional approach of politics based on the seizure of state power. The intention is to be inclusive to embrace the majority who are not normally involved in parties or organizations. By using the specific example of globalization's impact on the Malaysian workforce, it is hoped that some lessons can be drawn on combating the negative impact of global capital on daily lives. | |
