Issue Date: | 1997 | Citation: | Bay, B.H., Tay, S.S.W. (1997). Subacute administration of zinc induces lipid droplet accumulation in the mouse liver. Medical Science Research 25 (10) : 671-672. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | We studied the effects of subacute administration of zinc on the hepatocytes of mice by transmission electron microscopy and image analysis. Female C57/6J mice aged 5-6 weeks received intraperitoneal (i.p) zinc chloride (14 μg g -1 body weight) 5 times a week for 3 weeks. Control mice were given deionised water. Ultrastructural examination revealed significant accumulation of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes of the zinc-treated mice. | Source Title: | Medical Science Research | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/131888 | ISSN: | 02698951 |
