Abstract: We studied the effects of subacute administration of zinc on the hepatocytes of mice by transmission electron microscopy and image analysis. Female C57/6J mice aged 5-6 weeks received intraperitoneal (i.p) zinc chloride (14 μg g -1 body weight) 5 times a week for 3 weeks. Control mice were given deionised water. Ultrastructural examination revealed significant accumulation of lipid droplets in the hepatocytes of the zinc-treated mice.
