Abstract: Single molecule manipulation techniques have become versatile tools to study the force and motions of biological molecules such as DNA and proteins, and DNA-protein interaction in nanometer scale. In particular, the interaction between DNA and proteins has been receiving a lot of research efforts due to its important role in genomic compaction and functions. In this study, we investigated the interactions of three typical proteins with DNA, including NAP-1 from eukaryotic cells, MvaT and MvaU from prokaryotic cells, by using magnetic tweezers.
