Abstract: DESIGNING PRICE CONTRACT AND ORGANIZATION REPRESENTS A CONSTANT CHALLENGE FOR RESEARCHERS AND MANAGERS. THE AIM OF MY THESIS IS TO SHED LIGHT ON HOW TO DESIGN EFFECTIVE PRICE CONTRACT AND ORGANIZATION BY INCORPORATING PSYCHOLOGICAL REALISM. THE FIRST CHAPTER EXAMINES THE ROLE OF THE SUNK COST FALLACY AS A SELF-COMMITMENT DEVICE AND ITS IMPLICATION FOR OPTIMAL PRICE CONTRACT DESIGN IN THE MARKET FOR INVESTMENT GOODS AND LEISURE GOODS WHERE A FIRM HAS TO BALANCE THE DEMAND FOR FLEXIBILITY DUE TO THE SUNK COST FALLACY AND THE DEMAND FOR COMMITMENT DUE TO THE SELF-CONTROL PROBLEM. THE SECOND CHAPTER COMPARES THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TWO TYPES OF PRO-SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS - SANCTIONING ORGANIZATIONS (LIKE BOYCOTT CAMPAIGNS) AND SUBSIDY ORGANIZATIONS (LIKE CHARITY FOUNDATIONS) IN RESTORING SOCIAL JUSTICE. THESE RESULTS SHOW THAT IT IS CRUCIAL TO KNOW THE PROPORTION OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF INDIVIDUALS IN THE SOCIETY IN EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A PRO-SOCIAL ORGANIZATION.
