Abstract: This study mainly focuses on the design and implementation of wideband waveguide-fed planar antenna array in the Ku-Band. A basic multilayer waveguide-corporate-fed slot antenna array is investigated preliminarily to achieve wideband and high gain performance. Additionally, in order to achieve low-profile and low sidelobe characteristics, an amplitude-tapering H-plane waveguide feed-network with Taylor distribution is designed to incorporate with the preliminary basic array. A novel waveguide power divider with equal-phase but unequal-power-division is proposed to construct the waveguide feed-network. Furthermore, a monopulse comparator network is designed to work with a 16?16 slot array, targeting at good object-tracking performance in a wide operation bandwidth. A novel folded Magic-Tee is designed to achieve wideband and low-profile for the monopulse comparator. Finally, a preliminary study of a new fabrication technique for waveguide-fed antenna array, 3-D metal-direct-printing, is carried out. Results show that it is a promising manufacturing method for waveguide-fed antenna array.
