Abstract: Water pollution has become one of the most urgent problems facing the world. The discharge of untreated waste water does not only directly threaten human wellbeing, but also affects ecological systems causing the collapse of the aqueous ecosystem. Among the pollutants, heavy metal ions and organic pollutants are the most toxic species. Cr(VI) and Rhodamine B (RhB) as models for these two classes of real pollutants were examined in this thesis.
