Abstract: Glyptothorax scrobkulus, new species, is described from the Tuirial River and tributaries of the Tuivai River in Mizoram, northeast India. It differs from all congeners in having a furrow running along the entire length of the ventral surface of the pectoral spine. The significance of the furrow is briefly discussed, and it is thought to arise from the posterior expansion of the adhesive surface of the pectoral spine. © 2012 by Verlag Dr. Friedrich Pfeil, München, Germany.
