Abstract: Precision in situ flying height measurement during track seeking process with intersymbol interference (ISI) compensation was presented. It was shown that the corrupted signals differ substantially from the original signals. The equalized results were optimal under the mean-square error (MSE) criterion. The parameters were equivalent low pass bandwidth of 500 KHz and the frequency of the seeking signal of 2 MHz.
