Applying information from a series of case studies of university technology start-ups, we found that in Singapore the enterprise framework adds value in fundraising, reputation enhancement, business development and linkages with industry and government. In Swedish counterparts the entrepreneurs sought direct assistance without an embedded enterprise framework. This study reveals preliminary insights into the entrepreneurial university model that is moving gradually towards a mixed system of market forces and government incentives. © Beech Tree Publishing 2008.
