dc.description.abstract | Nd55-xCoxFe30Al10B5 (x = 0, 5, 10, 15 and 20) rods with a thickness of 1 mm were prepared by the arc-melting copper mold suction-casting method. At appropriate compositions, the coercivity, remanence and Curie temperature of the alloys simultaneously rise considerably. Coercivities larger than 1120 kA/m have been observed at room temperature for rods with x-values between 10 and 20. The remanent magnetization rises from ∼13 to ∼24 Am2/kg and the Curie temperature increases from ∼450 to ∼625 K when the Co-concentration, x, in the alloys increases from 0 to 20. The magnetic behavior of the alloys has been investigated at low temperatures. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved. | |
