Abstract: The conditions for the disturbance decoupling problem with or without stability and pole placement for linear time-invariant systems with direct feedthrough matrices were discussed. The results were proved on the basis of a condensed form under orthogonal matrix transformations. It was shown that the computation of a feedback matrix which placed the pole at the prespective locations was a numerically unreliable procedure.
