Abstract: In this paper Power-law fluid flow description in the entry region of a circular pipe has been obtained by solving a hydrodynamically equivalent Newtonian analogue of the problem by a refined integral procedure. The analysis does not pre-assume axial velocity profile but determines the same by an integration of the momentum equation. It also accounts for the loss of energy due to viscous dissipation in the boundary layer and avoids the replacement of the wall velocity derivatives with the help of the axial velocity distribution.
