Issue Date: | Aug-2009 | Citation: | Hui, T.H. (2009-08). Betta pardalotos, a new species of fighting fish (Teleostei: Osphronemidae) from Sumatra, Indonesia. Raffles Bulletin of Zoology 57 (2) : 501-504. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A new species of Betta from the B. waseri group is described based on recent material. It is closely allied to B. chloropharynx from Pulau Banka. Betta pardalotos differs from B. chloropharynx in having a slightly different throat pattern; spotted opercle and throat (vs. unmarked); even sloping or convexity at area posterior to upper jaw to supra-orbital area (vs. slight concavity) and other characters. This brings to eight members in the B. waseri group. © National University of Singapore. | Source Title: | Raffles Bulletin of Zoology | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/100161 | ISSN: | 02172445 |
